The Holy Cross girls’ and boys’ hockey teams, and our entire School Community, offer our prayers for all those affected by the terrible bus crash on April 6 near Humboldt, Saskatchewan. The Humboldt Junior A Hockey team was on route to a playoff game when their bus collided with a transport truck. The crash took the lives of many of the Humboldt hockey team players and staff. We also pray for the injured and for the family members, friends, and caregivers who have been involved in the care and support of all those affected by this terrible tragedy. We ask God to be an ever present help to them in their time of need. And may the entire community of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, continue to draw strength and hope from God at this very difficult time. Team players killed included: Logan Boulet, 21, of Lethbridge, Alberta; Adam Herold, 16, of Montmartre, Saskatchewan; Logan Hunter, 18, of St. Albert, Alberta; Jaxon Joseph, 20, of Edmonton, Alberta; Jacob Leicht, 19, of Humboldt, Saskatchewan; Conner Lukan, 21, of Slave Lake, Alberta; Logan Schatz, 20, of Allan, Saskatchewan; Evan Thomas, 18, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Parker Tobin, 18, of Stony Plain, Alberta; Stephen Wack, 21, of St. Albert, Alberta. Team personnel killed included: Tyler Bieber, announcer, 29, of Humboldt, Saskatchewan; Mark Cross, assistant coach, 27, of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan; Darcy Haugan, head coach, 42, of Humboldt, Saskatchewan; Brody Hinz, stats expert, 18, of Humboldt, Saskatchewan; Glen Doerksen, bus driver, 59, of Carrot River, Saskatchewan.
