Class of 2020 Nicholson Catholic College Graduates and family members, this message is for you!!!
The staff at NCC want to celebrate the graduates just one week from today on June 24th!!!
- Each graduate, along with members of their immediate household are invited to be part of a parade around Nicholson.
- The parade route will begin on Alexander St. at the Charles Street intersection. (approaching from Pine Street) Supervisors will be there to get things started and keep it organized. Cars will head up Alexander Street, onto and down John Street, turning right on Victoria Avenue, and then turning right onto Church Street. The route will be lined with staff who have been part of your Crusader journey.
- It is important that everyone stays in their car throughout the parade for appropriate social distancing, but we do want to see you. We encourage you to roll down the windows and ensure that the Graduate is seated on the passenger side. Each car is asked to display the NAME of the graduate in the front passenger side window. You are welcome to decorate your car in honour of the celebration!
- Each vehicle will stop on Church Street at the steps directly in front of Nicholson Catholic College. The driver will need to carefully ensure that the trunk gets opened (our BPS partners will assist us with safety concerns) so that we will be able to give you something to take home as a sign of how proud we are of our NCC graduates.
- The parade finishes by you continuing down the Church Street hill toward Station Street and heading home from there.
- When you arrive home, we ask that you display your gift for all to see that you are a Nicholson graduate. We also ask you to carefully look at the contents of an envelope that you will receive on that day.
- In order to ensure a reasonable flow of traffic, we have set up a schedule for arrival to the beginning of the parade route. If you arrive early, please wait in the Queen Victoria school parking lot, located on Pine Street until your appointed time. (We thank them for their support by allowing that.)
- Please note that the schedule has been set as a guideline to support the enjoyable flow of the parade. If work constraints do not permit you to be at your specific time, please don't worry; we have a timeslot at the end for anyone who may have missed their allocated time.

What is ALCDSB doing for Grade 12 graduation?
Due to group gathering restrictions, physical graduations will not take place in June. ALCDSB is committed to celebrating Grade 12 graduates in a different fashion this spring.
Although it may look different at each school, each of our five secondary schools will be celebrating our grade 12 graduates on their accomplishments.
ALCDSB continues to work in collaboration with our local public health units, the Ministry of Education and local municipalities to ensure that any celebrations held for
Grade 12 students will comply with all public health measures. This will ensure the safety of all students, staff and families.
Updates on a Grade 12 celebration will be shared through each secondary school.
