Updates from David DeSantis, Director of Education

August 7, 2020

Dear parents/guardians,

I hope that you are enjoying your well-deserved summer break. I am writing to you today to provide an update on our return to school planning process.

On July 30th, the Provincial Government announced that all schools in Ontario would re-open in September. More information on this announcement can be found here: Ontario Releases Plan for Safe Reopening of Schools in September

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board continues to finalize a plan specific to the needs and best interests of our Catholic school communities.

Our number one priority is the health and safety of all students and staff.  We continue to work with the Ministry of Education, our local public health units, co-terminus boards, union groups and TriBoard Transportation as part of our planning process.

Our formal plan along with information to address frequently asked questions (FAQs) will be shared next week. In addition, we will be sharing a survey with families seeking information regarding attendance this Fall.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:25

Sincerely,

David DeSantis

Director of Education
