Ensuring
an education that is equitable and inclusive, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board strengthens our Catholic
Educational System on the Pillars of Discipleship, Scholarship and Stewardship. Our schools and our strategic initiatives are built on the foundation of these pillars:
Discipleship
As a
community of learners, created in the image of God, we inspire and nurture
strong communities of faith with all partners in Catholic education – home,
school, parish and community. We articulate, share and celebrate our Catholic
values and traditions through our lived “Faith in Action”, proudly professing
and bearing witness to our faith. We sustain healthy and nurturing communities
of belonging that are safe, caring and respectful.
Scholarship
In the
Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, we believe that all
students can learn, and our mission is to enable each and every student to
learn effectively, to reduce achievement gaps and to improve learning outcomes
for all, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation
and other historical forms of marginalization
Stewardship
Our
school communities have collaborative cultures in which teachers, support staff
and administrators work as a team to establish initiatives that will
ensure success for all. Abandoning our
comfortable practices and assuming new ways of working and learning requires
all of us to take risks. It calls us to leave our world
of independence and enter into new forms of dialogue and collaboration with our
co-workers.
