School Year Calendar

​​​The School Year calendar begins development in February for the following school year.  After several consultations and approval by the Board, it must then be submitted to the Ministry of Education for approval.  Once approved, the calendar will be posted.​  

On February 9, 2016,  the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board Issues and Directions Committee passed a motion for the proposed 2016/2017 school year calendar. The calendar has now been approved by the Ministry of Education.  

Students will start classes on Tuesday, September 6, after the Labour Day holiday.  Some notable details of the 2016-2017 School Year Calendar are:

First day of classes for all students will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016
There will be seven PA days in total
Christmas Break -  December 24, 2016- January 9, 2017
March Break March 13-17, 2017
The last day of school is June 29, 2017
