The Crusaders field hockey team fought a hard match against the Sydenham Golden Eagles but could not over come a deficit which eventually ended in a 3-0 loss. They learned a lot in that game which they will hopefully apply tonight at Lasalle.

The Crusaders Girls field hockey team were victorious over a determined and skillful Bayridge team last night with a score of 2-0. Rookie Ange DeSousa scored her first regular season goal late in the first half to give us the lead entering second half. Team captain Melanie Simourd made a textbook shot on net from the top of the circle that blew by the Bayridge goalie in the dying minutes of the game to seal the win for the green and silver squad. Ashley Callery earned the shutout. Our next game is on Monday at 4:15 played on the turf at Invista. Watch yesterdays game on the HC SHSM/Cogeco game of the week tonight. Good work girls!

The field hockey girls played well at the AKPro tournament in Ottawa on Saturday. Despite the muddy and wet weather, the girls managed to make it to the semifinals, where they lost to last years' Ofsaa competitors. MVP of the tournament went to fellow Crusader, Anna Rhine's. Come on out to the field after school today and help support the team as they face off against LC at 3:30. Good luck girls!

Ashley Callery shut out the Napanee Eagles last night as the Girls Crusaders Field Hockey team blanked them 3-0 in their first regular season game. Congrats girls! Two goals came from the stick of center Caleigh Patterson assisted on one of them by team captain Melanie Simourd and the other by center D Kate Schenk. Kate scored a great goal from the top of the circle off of a pass from Jessi Therrien. Anna Rhines set upanothergoal by quick thinking and a quicker stick as she worked to keep the ball in play in their end.
