Principal's Welcome Message

Welcome Back!

It's hard to imagine, but another school year is upon us. As is the case with every September, I am excited by the potential and possibilities that a new school year holds. Welcoming our students, new and old, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School every fall is a delight. Their smiling faces, filled with anticipation, trepidation and excitement about seeing new friends, developing new friendships and getting started on their new studies reminds me why we are here each and every day. Your children, our students, are our very purpose for being in schools as educators. We are here to serve them and attend to their individual needs and strengths. At Mount Carmel, we are truly blessed with a dedicated, caring staff who always put the interests and abilities of our students at the forefront of learning and spiritual and social development. 2017-2018 promises to be an exciting year. My hope is to work with our parish, our families and staff to provide a creative and diverse learning environment for your children. With your support I am certain we will continue to witness tremendous success at OLMC I would encourage all our parents and guardians to speak openly with your child's classroom teacher about their progress. Communication is a key component of any child's development.

For 2017-18 we have adopted the theme, "For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him." (Acts 2:39). "Car la promesse est pour vous, pour vos enfants et pour tous ceux qui sont loin, aussi nombreux que le Seigneur notre Dieu les appellera."(Actes 2, 39). This theme, will be used to help guide us as we plan and prepare curricular engagements for each child. Our hope is to work collaboratively with parents and guardians as we venture down this pathway toward justice, love, and kindness.

We want our school to be an inviting place where opportunities for collaboration with parents, guardians, and community members are abundant. We see these moments as a chance to help our students grow socially, spiritually, and academically. With your continued support, I am confident that we can help our students achieve the lofty goals set by them and the classroom teachers. I look forward to each opportunity to work with you throughout this school year.
