Holy Cross Students take home Bronze, Silver & Gold in LDSB Skills Competition

​​Nine ALCDSB students from three secondary schools completed alongside over 130 students from two school boards in the secondary portion of the Limestone Skills Competition at St. Lawrence College (SLC) in Kingston on Thursday. 

Congratulations to our Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School (HCCSS) participants who placed in the following categories:  
 
Noah Grasleyn (Grade 11), gold, Graphic Design Studio 
Jacob Soudant & Austin Visneskie (both Grade 11), silver, Team of 2 Carpentry  
Andrew Cheung (Grade 12), bronze, Coding

 Noah Grasley, (HCCSS) took home gold for his outstanding performance in Graphic Design Studio.

Jacob Soudant & Austin Visneskie, HCCSS students took home the silver medal in Team of 2 Carpentry at the LDSB Skills Competition at SLC on Thursday. The competitors were tasked with build a potting station in less than 6 hours.

Andrew Cheung, also a HCCSS student, took home the bronze, Coding, competed at nearby Bayridge Secondary School with four other ALCDSB students. 

Several competitors from this round will represent ALCDSB at the Provincial Skills Ontario Competitions in early May, held in Toronto at the Congress Centre.  
 
Of the 25 competition areas, ALCDSB students were active participants in Hairstyling, Carpentry, Graphic Design and Coding. Competitors demonstrated their talent and creativity with specific tasks to perform, or scenarios to complete, within a specific time frame, and were judged by industry specialists. 
 
Other ALCDSB student participants included Emma Short, Nicholson Catholic College, David Cheng and Sajjad Naqvi, St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School  
Parker Sarris and Katie Ward, Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. 
 
All ALCDSB competitors worked very hard in their respective competitions and represented ALCDSB in a positive light.
