"I believe that the biggest blessing is the nature that surrounds us and I'm grateful for our planets' beauty", she said.

“The goal of this spectacle of artistry is to remind students and staff to continue doing the things they enjoy, that are good for their mental health and wellness, even during pressing and busy times”, said Colleen Glancey Cox, school Guidance Counsellor and MHA teacher advisor.

Art Battle is the biggest event MHA puts on each year. “It is an opportunity for participants to dig deep and highlight any positive thing going in their lives. “Blessed and/or Gratitude” was selected as a theme this year to encourage positive thinking, to help students in recognizing that even during the darkest of times, there can be light”, said Alanna Larsen, Religion department head religion, classroom teacher and MHA teacher advisor.

The student work was identified by number only.  Upon completion of the event, students wrote one or two sentences about their artwork and how the concept ties into the theme. The judgment of the works was based on consideration of the theme, composition, and effectiveness of colour. The judges panel was comprised of classroom teachers, Marisa Sloboda and Pat Farrell and RND Principal, Nick Wooley.
