St. Joseph Students raise $772 for Autism Awareness

April 04, 2016

DSC_0421.JPGOn April 4, St. Joseph Catholic School was excited to welcome guests from Autism Ontario to come to speak to students about Autism Awareness. During the presentations, students were able to learn about autism, being inclusive of other students with autism and how to be a friend to everyone within their school community.

Throughout the month of March, the St. Joseph Catholic School community brought in donations for their Lenten project for Autism Ontario. Their goal was to raise $250. The school exceeded this goal, raising over $770.

$250 was given to Autism Ontario and the remainder of the money was given to Adam's Hope, a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping families in the Quinte region affected by autism.

St. Joseph Catholic School received an autism flag from Autism Ontario that is hanging proudly in their gymnasium.
