This year's Thinkfast at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School was a great success with over 40 students and staff giving up food for 25 hours and raising over $1,600 in pledge money. This money will be donated to victims of the famine in South Sudan through the Catholic Development & Peace organization.
The theme this year was "Women at the Heart of Change." Students and staff had a lot of fun with the various games and the "Small Family Farm" Activity which Cici Siju and others led. Another student leader, Naomi Gazendam, introduced a video and then led a group discussion on "When Helping Hurts." This looked at how development work in developing countries can sometimes hurt rather than help people.
