Dear Families,

The ALCDSB is thrilled to provide an update on the opening of St. Geneviève Catholic School/École catholique Sainte-Geneviève.

Eligibility
As we begin to build our new Catholic learning community, we are excited to welcome students to St. Geneviève Catholic School from three school communities. All students within the St. Geneviève Catholic School boundary will attend this new, vibrant school.

We thank you again for your participation in our public meetings and consultation processes that took place in early 2023. Our next steps to build this Catholic learning community will include various transition activities for students and families. This is in concert with our mission statement where we build faith-filled learning communities where each member is loved, inspired, and successful.

For an outline of the boundary, please click here. (https://www.alcdsb.on.ca/Board/Pages/Boundary-Review.aspx#/=)

If you are unsure of the boundary for St. Geneviève Catholic School, please reach out to your school principal.

Please note that students will be transferred in our system centrally so there is no need to complete registration if you are an existing student.

Kindergarten Registration
If you are registering your child for Kindergarten at St. Geneviève Catholic School, please register through our pre-registration online form. This process is outlined on the Board website: click here to register! (https://www.alcdsb.on.ca/Schools/Pages/Registration.aspx?login=932669741#/=)

Please email flhpgene@alcdsb.on.ca or call 613-354-8212 if you have any questions regarding registration for kindergarten students.

Construction

We look forward to welcoming all families to an open house before the start of school. Stay tuned for more information on this.

Our teams have been working diligently to prepare this space with intention. Every detail of this school is being constructed to maximize student learning. For example, custom furniture will be arriving this Spring that will support innovative learning and collaboration for all students.

As you are aware, St. Geneviève Catholic School has been designed based on learning communities, which is not “open concept." Our Board recognizes that not all students learn the same, so these learning communities have been designed to allow for flexibility in student learning and opportunities for a variety of learning styles.

More updates and information will be shared as we get closer to opening day.
