ALCDSB Inaugural Meeting Commences 2022 Board Year

Trustees, senior staff, employee groups, and board stakeholders came together in-person and virtually on the evening of Tuesday December 7, 2021 for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board’s Inaugural meeting.  

Following a reflection from Father Timothy Shea, the Board of Trustees renewed their commitment to Catholic Education symbolized through the lighting of the Trustee tapers. The Board’s two Student Trustees Alyssa Phieffer and Aby Ows were also present to participate in the ceremony, which was followed by an address from acclaimed Chair, Tom Dall.  


The Board of Trustees’ executive positions will remain unchanged from the previous term, with Tom Dall continuing to serve as the Board’s Chair, along with Michael Murphy as Vice-Chair, and Christopher Wright as Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee.   


“I am optimistic because this Board has enjoyed years of unwavering leadership from our Director, our Superintendents, Managers, Principals and Vice Principals. Additionally, we are privileged to have educators who continually demonstrate their commitment to living their faith, while embracing the knowledge to lead and engage our children in a faith-filled learning environment.” said Dall during his Inaugural address to the Board.   


Dall added that despite the host of challenges presented by the pandemic, he is encouraged by the commitment of all staff to continue providing the best possible learning environment for students, while actively demonstrating the benefits of Catholic education. 


The Inaugural meeting officially commences the 2022 Board Year.  ​
