Incoming Student Trustee Takes Oath of Office

Incoming Student Trustee

Grace Bowry, incoming student trustee for the 2019/2020 school year takes her Oath of Office at the June Board Meeting. Grace will be entering Grade 12 at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School this Fall.

 In the role of Student Trustee, Grace will act as the head of student senate. It is her responsibility to inform the senate of issues affecting students across the board, to gather student opinions in order to fulfill her job as their representative and to allow each school council to share their events and ideas with each other.

The Student Trustee makes a significant contribution to the school board, representing all elementary and secondary students in the system. The Student Trustee attends monthly Committee and Board Meetings and other commitments throughout the school year. The Student Trustee is also part of the Ontario Student Trustees' Association, which is the voice of students across Ontario.

 

Outgoing Student Trustee

The Board of Trustees also said farewell to outgoing student trustee, Andrea Brown. Andrea is currently completing her final year at Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School and will be heading to Dalhousie University in the Fall to student Science and International Development.  On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Terry Shea presented Andrea with a token of appreciation.
