ALCDSB Grade 7/8 Math Tournament

On June 7, ALCDSB held its 3rd Annual Math Tournament at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School.  Congratulations to all the mathletes who participated in this math enriching event from JJ O'Neill, Archbishop O'Sullivan, St. John XXIII, St. Paul(Trenton), Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Martha, Our Lady of Mt Carmel, Holy Name, and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys.

Seventy-two mathletes competed in a full day of challenging math problems that involved collaborative and creative problem solving.  RND's mathletes and Calculus students managed this enriched learning activity.  Mr. Santos, the tournament moderator has never seen tournament results this close.  All three top teams were within one point of each other.

 

Top Honours to the team from St. Martha C.S. (72.3 pts)
