Catholic School Board Vacancy

The Board of Trustees of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board invites applications from interested and qualified individuals to fill, by appointment, a trustee vacancy for the term of office 2018 – 2022.  This vacancy is a result of no candidates in Quinte West at the October 22, 2018 Municipal Election.
 
The statutory qualifications for trusteeship include the following:
 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • must be a Canadian citizen
  • must live within the jurisdiction of the Board
  • must be designated as a Separate School (Catholic) ratepayer
  • must not be an employee of the Board
 
Applications should be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Board, confirming interest in the position, providing some personal background, offering a statement outlining reasons for interest in the position and including current Criminal Background Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) documentation.  Applications must be received by noon, Friday, January 11, 2019.
 
Following receipt of the applications, interested individuals whom the Board wishes to consider further will be invited to a Special Meeting of the Board currently scheduled for January 15, 2019 at 6:30 p.m..  At this time, applicants will have an opportunity to present to the Board of Trustees (10 minutes) and then respond to questions.  The successful applicant will be chosen and sworn in at this meeting.
