Welcome to the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board!
The ALCDSB covers 16,000 square kilometers, from Kingston in the east to Trenton in the west, from Picton in the south to Whitney in the north. See our board map here:

The ALCDSB is ranked 12th in the province for graduation rates, and 4th of the English-speaking school boards. For EQAO testing, we have seen growth in all areas—reading, writing, and math—in both Grade 3 and Grade 6.

ALCDSB's Commitment to Equity
The ALCDSB recognizes that child and youth mental health is a primary factor contributing to well-being and student achievement. As a faith filled education system, we prioritize the inherent value and dignity of each person, made in the image and likeness of God.
Why Faith-Based Education
Through cross-curricular teaching, religious education provides a lens through which students can understand the world and their place within it. It will influence the way students understand history, the role of religion in culture, the person’s responsibility to care for nature, the values and attitudes that promote safe, inclusive communities, and the need for ethics in the workplace among other things of importance to a Christian way of life.
Student Bus Transportation

School Year Calendar
Each spring, the school year calendar for the upcoming year is approved by the Ministry of Education. This process includes getting input from students, their families, staff and the broader community on which calendar is best. Uniforms for Secondary School
Students in one of our secondary schools are required to wear uniforms to school, at all times during the school day, including spare, unless it is a civvies day, in which students are permitted to wear their own clothing to school. The ALCDSB uniform provider is McCarthy Uniforms.
Uniforms provides many advantages to our students, including safety, pride and a sense of equality, and allows staff to easily identify any person who does not belong in our school buildings.
Team, club or spirit wear is acceptable only at lunch, before and after school hours as it is not considered to be uniform. Hats are to be removed upon entry into any of the school buildings.
Students in our elementary schools do not require uniforms.
