Safe Arrivals Program

ATTENDANCE / SAFE ARRIVAL

We believe Every school day counts!  It is parents/guardians' responsibility to ensure children attend school.  Small absences of 'a day' can quickly add up to lengthy periods of absence, which in turn can have a negative impact on a child's school experience (including academics, social and emotional well-being).  Please communicate with your child's classroom teacher if your child is experiencing any anxiety or concerns in regards to attending school.  Together we can make every school day – a great school day!

If students need support with daily attendance at school, we want to work together with parents and students to support a plan for success.

SAFE WELCOME

Our School is equipped with a Safe Welcome System. School Doors and Gates will be locked at 9:15 am. Guests to the School will have to be buzzed in by a staff member to gain entry.  This system will provide increased safety in our schools by ensuring all visitors use the same entry doors and sign in.

Periodically throughout the day staff may be attending to other duties and may not be readily available to answer the buzzer and or phone, please be patient as you wait until someone returns to the main office.

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is excited to launch the Safe Arrivals Program on February 1, 2020, which will allow parents/guardians to report their child's absence in a new, more convenient way.

Using the Safe Arrivals Program, parents/guardians will be able to report daily absences (such as an illness, medical appointment, etc.) and even schedule absences in one of three ways:

Once parents/guardians have reported an absence, they will receive a message confirming the details by email or the app, if set up.

As student safety is ALCDSB's number one priority, this program allows school secretaries to know where students are faster and track their absences in a more effective way.

Before you begin, you must have an email address and/or phone number associated with your child's school to sign up.
