We are pleased to welcome our new and returning students and staff to the new 2020 - 2021 school year. Once again, the school will be alive with the sounds of laughter and learning. A sense of newness is in the air – new grade, new teacher, new friends, and new opportunities to grow academically and spiritually. As
we start this new year, we have made every effort to
ensure that our return to school is done so in a way that is safe, engaging,
and in compliance with the Ministry of Education and the Local Public Health
Unit. We will be teaching and instituting physical distancing practices, hand
hygiene, requiring masks for all of our students
At Sacred Heart Catholic School, we nurture and encourage our students to reach the full potential of their God-given gifts and become closer to Jesus Christ. Our school community advocates for us all to serve the Lord and our community. We especially recognize and value the unique place our school holds within the history and community of Wolfe Island.
The special role of Catholic school communities was recently recognized in Renewing the Promise, by the Catholic Bishops of Ontario.
Catholic education forms communities of faith that help students experience the love of God. The more our students see and understand themselves as the beloved children of God, the more they will want to love God with all their hearts, minds, and souls. This in turn moves them to love their neighbour which bears witness to justice and charity. The more we love God, the more we love our neighbour and the more we engage in the community.
We continue to work closely in partnership with home and parish to maintain a strong foundation of faith for our students. We encourage you to attend our monthly school masses at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Please feel free to communicate questions or concerns regarding your child's well-being with us at any time. Follow us on Twitter for regular updates on our learning and the celebrating our faith: https://twitter.com/alcdsb_shrt?lang=en
Parents/Guardians who have not done so are encouraged to sign up for our school Email Distribution List by clicking on the 'Sign up for Newsletter' button on our school website.
We would like to thank you for your patience, flexibility and support during these unprecedented times. Our staff are some of the most kind and dedicated professionals to work with. They are excited about the return to school and look forward to working collaboratively with you to ensure that the return to school for our students is both safe and engaging.
