It seems the year is racing by. Our fall sports teams are reaching the end of their seasons. In fact, our field hockey team, led by
, played Frontenac in the KASSAA finals October 26th, defeating the Falcons 1-0 to qualify for OFSSA this week in Kitchener. Congratulations to coaches
and all of our impressive field hockey players.
I would be remiss if I did not offer a special thank you to our coaches and volunteers who selflessly give their time to all of our school teams and clubs. A great example would be our girls' basketball program which, in concert with the RND school community, at the
PH Classic Oct 27th, raised $5000 for Breast Cancer screening. This is only one example of how we live our Catholic faith every day in everything we do. Once again, I encourage every student to get involved and, most importantly, support your fellow Crusaders.
You may have heard or read in the media about the cyber attack on the EQAO website that disrupted the provincial on-line Literacy Test. While it was certainly frustrating, I was impressed by the efforts made by our eligible writers and their proctors and scribes. You will see information in this publication about the Arts Department's presentation of Les Mis at the end of the month. I have heard that ticket sales will be brisk, so do not be disappointed. Tickets go on sale November 16th.
The feedback received at Holy Cross regarding the new procedures related to booking Parent-Teacher interviews was generally positive. If you have any concerns about the new system of on-line booking, it should be shared with staff. Our plan at this point is to continue with on-line booking during second semester.
