2023 Track and Field Results
Points are awarded as follows: 10 pts for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, and 1 for 4th. In the event of a tie, we use the athlete's finish in their third event. For example, in U12 girls, Athlete A and B are tied with 20 points (2 first place finishes). Athlete A finished 5th in their third event, while Athlete B finished 13th in theirs - So Athlete A wins the tie-breaker. In the event this tie breaker is also tied - two medals will be awarded.

This aligns with both The East side of the board and OFSAA divisional alignment. It also allows for more athletes to be exposed and for K-6 schools to send more athletes. Each B school will be able to send TWO athletes to each event per sex, per division - with A schools sending 4 athletes per event, per sex, per division. Students may compete in up to three individual events (2 track and 1 field OR 2 field and 1 track). 1500 and Relay are not counted towards an athlete's event total.
In the event of a birth year or grade discrepancy (i.e., a 12-year-old grade 6) we default to GRADE for categorization.
ALCDSB adheres to OFSAA Guidelines surrounding gender identity. Therefore, athletes enter events as their lived gender - i.e. If a student was born male but identifies as female and has been living as a female - they are to compete as a female athlete.
