Equity and Well-Being

In 2020, the Board introduced the inaugural Equity Plan. Drawing on valuable insights, achievements, and lessons learned from areas identified for growth, the Board has been able to thoughtfully reflect, gather, and analyze data. These efforts have informed new learning and laid a strong foundation for the launch of the updated Equity Plan.

The 2025-2026 Equity Plan identifies five key commitments:
  1. We commit to embracing and implementing practices that are pastoral and inclusive so all members of the ALCDSB have a true experience of Christian community.
  2. We commit to intentionally and continually reviewing data to determine who needs us to change our practice the most and interrogating our practices in response to this data.
  3. We commit to creating the conditions for psychological safety so we may become comfortable asking difficult questions, listening to honest feedback, acknowledging everyone’s point of view, and moving forward together.
  4. We commit to respectfully engaging, being guided by, and accountable to those with lived experiences that have often been left out of the discussion.
  5. We commit to aligning resources to equity priorities in new ways that create equitable opportunities for not only students, but also staff, families, and community partners.

Human Rights Reporting Tool

The ALCDSB has launched the ALCDSB Online Human Rights Reporting Tool. If you have experienced and/or witnessed incidents of discrimination, harassment, hate activity and/or bullying that involve a member(s) of the ALCDSB community (i.e., students, staff members, families), you can use this form to file a report: https://survey.alchemer-ca.com/s3/50292102/ALCDSB-Online-Human-Rights-Reporting-Tool

While the tool is anonymous, you have the option to identify yourself. Either way, you are helping us to understand what is happening in our school communities, so we can plan steps to address these concerns. We are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us protect the human dignity of all members of the ALCDSB.
