ALCDSB Secondary Students offered FREE transit in Belleville

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) is excited to announce a partnership with the City of Belleville Transit Services.

BT LET'S GO offers ALCDSB secondary students access to FREE transit within the city limits of Belleville with an annual pass.

Who's covered?
Grade 9-12 students who attend St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School, Nicholson Catholic College and St. Paul Catholic Secondary School.

How to get your pass?
Students will receive an email with instructions to sign up and download the B-Tap app. Instructions are also included below.

These partnerships offer increased flexibility and independence for students to attend school, work, extracurricular activities and expand their cooperative education opportunities.

How to Register for your FREE High School Student Yearly Transit Pass

  1. You will receive an email from [email protected] with the subject line “Please complete your eFare registration”. If you don’t receive it, check your spam and/or junk mail or contact [email protected] for assistance.

  2. Within the email, select the link to complete the registration form. If the link does not open when you select it, you can copy and paste it into your browser.

  3. Complete the registration form with the required information. You are not required to provide your date of birth.

  4. Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive a “Registration Successful” message and email.

  5. Now that you have successfully registered for your free high school student transit pass, you will need to add it to the Belleville Transit B-Tap app.

  6. You can download the “B-Tap” app in Google Play or the App Store.

How to Add your Transit Pass to the B-Tap app

  1. Open the app, select “Log In” from the menu, and sign on using the same email address and password you used to register.

  2. Create a name for your mobile wallet that will contain your transit pass.

  3. To add the transit pass to your wallet, select “Add funds”.

  4. Select “High School Year Pass Student” and then “Continue”.

  5. A confirmation message will appear, letting you know that your free high school student transit pass was successfully added.

How to Use your Transit Pass

  1. Open the Belleville Transit B-Tap app and sign on.

  2. Select “My Passes” from the menu and then select “High School Year Pass Student”.
  3. Before choosing to activate your pass, confirm that you will be boarding the bus within the next 10 minutes. The QR code that is generated is only valid for 10 minutes.

  4. Set the brightness of your mobile device to maximum and increase the size of the QR code.

  5. Board the bus and scan the QR code on the farebox located next to the bus driver.

  6. If the QR code expires before you can board the bus, repeat the steps above to generate a new QR code.
