Each year, in ALCDSB, each school selects one student to be the Beacon of Hope. There is usually a breakfast held, and speeches given to honour these students for being Jesus’ hands and feet in their school communites. This year, the board is recognizing the students on Social Media, but we wanted all of our families to be aware of this wonderful student!
Devin Foley-Forbes is this year's Beacon of Hope! Devin always finds the bright side of things, making it his goal to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Through kind gestures, a willingness to help, and his dry sense of humour, Devin helps to bring a sense of community to his classroom and the school as a whole. His teacher, Mr. Allore, refers to Devin as his “go to guy” because he knows that if he asks him to help with anything -it will get done! He is the President of our Kiwanis Builders’ Club, being the hands of Jesus by supporting our school, local, and international communities. Devin is active in our school masses where he serves as an altar boy and assists in supporting younger students who are learning the importance of this role. St. Carthagh will miss Devin but wishes him God’s blessing as he begins a new chapter in High School! Congratulations, Devin!
