It may be December, but that doesn't stop Grade 12 Nicholson Catholic College student and ALCDSB Student Trustee, Marlow, from practicing her golf skills this winter after multiple wins this fall.

Marlow was the winner of the Bay of Quinte Golf Tournament (Sept. 29), COSSA (Oct. 6) and came top 10 at OFSAA (Oct. 12 and 13).

She says this accomplishment is special to her because it was her first year being part of a golf team. “I have only been golfing for two years, so winning Bay of Quinte and COSSA and being placed in the top ten at OFSAA is very special to me and has proven that hard work pays off."

With golf season beginning in April, Marlow is getting ready for more wins in 2023. Using an at-home golf simulator, the sports dome at Loyalist College and potentially a golf coach, she will be working on her swing for the next season and an opportunity to play for a post-secondary school golf team. Tryouts begin the first week of school, in September 2023.​
