CUPE Strike Update to Families

Dear families,


CUPE has announced that they intend to participate in a full withdrawal of services on Monday, November 21, 2022, if no tentative agreement is reached before then in respect of Central Bargaining.


Should no agreement be met, all ALCDSB schools will be closed to students Monday, November 21, 2022, and to ensure the health and safety of staff and students, asynchronous online learning will take place for all students. All students currently enrolled in remote learning will continue classes as normal. 


In the event of a continued withdrawal of services, as of Monday, November 21, 2022; 

 

      • ​​Asynchronous online learning will take place for all students 
      • Co-operative Education and Dual Credit programming will continue to run 
      • No extracurricular activities will be running on school property 
      • A​ll before or afterschool care programs will NOT be in operation at any ALCDSB school sites until further notice

    Please monitor your email for school messenger updates daily, as further instruction may be delivered which may impact your child’s learning. The Ministry of Education will be providing further instructions to school boards. Updates will be posted on the Board’s social media channels and published on the Board’s website: alcdsb.on.ca. 


    More information will be forthcoming regarding: 

    • ​Onsite childcare (before and after) 
    • Access to technology 
    • Synchronous Learning 
    • Support for students with special needs 
    • Mental health resources
