See Me in ALCDSB Census

April 04, 2022

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) students and parents are invited to complete the first-ever See Me in ALCDSB Survey, a confidential and voluntary student census, from May 9 to 20.

The See Me in ALCDSB survey asks about:

  • Student identity, including race, gender, sexual orientation, language and more.
  • Students’ sense of belonging and safety at school.
  • Whether students see themselves reflected in materials.

The information students and families share will help the ALCDSB build on work already underway to support equity, well-being and success for all students and provide a way to measure the impact of that work.

School and board staff cannot access individual student information shared on the survey. Data will only be reviewed from a population level – for example, the entire school population, a region of the school board, or the school board as a whole.

Elementary parents/guardians will receive the survey by email on behalf of their children. Students in Grades 9 to 12 will have time to complete the survey at school.
