Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Please see the information below from Hasting Prince Edward Public Health  about the recently announced Special Youth Vaccination Clinics  available for students aged 12 and over in the Hastings Prince Edward region. ALCDSB is excited to be able to collaborate with our community partners to help keep our communities safe and healthy. Ensuring school staff and eligible students have the opportunity to get vaccinated will add to current measures to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Vaccination for Youth Aged 12 – 18

The province has made a commitment to offering first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine to eligible youth before the end of the summer. In order to ensure eligible youth have access to vaccines as soon as possible, Public Health will be holding special youth clinics in the next few weeks. These clinics will offer the Pfizer vaccine, which is currently the only COVID-19 vaccine that has been authorized by Health Canada for use in individuals aged 12 and over.

Book an Appointment at Special Youth Vaccination Clinics!

To get vaccinated as soon as possible, eligible students are invited to book an appointment at HPEPH’s special youth clinics taking place between May 31 and June 12. Please note the student will need to be 12 years of age at the time of the appointment.

To book an appointment, please visit canadaehs.com/hpepublichealth/students.

If you are unable to book online, please contact HPEPH at 613-966-5500 between
8:30am – 4:30pm and follow prompts for the COVID-19 vaccination call centre.

Why is vaccination so important?

Infection prevention protocols have ensured the potential of COVID-19 transmission in the school setting has remained low in HPEC. Ensuring the vaccine is available to eligible youth will further reduce potential risk for everyone in a school setting. All eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for vaccination to help keep our schools and community as safe as possible.
