Superintendent of School Effectiveness Eligibility List

ALCDSB logoThe Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board invites applications for future positions of Superintendent of School Effectiveness. 

The Board is seeking dynamic leaders who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the mission and ministry of Catholic Education.  Successful candidates will be practicing Roman Catholics with exemplary leadership records; a clear vision for Catholic education in the 21st century; a strong focus on improving student achievement and wellbeing; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.  As education leaders, they will implement strategic directions as part of a team of senior staff; work to enhance community partnerships with the home, school, parish and community; inspire teachers and support staff; and develop a strong network of school leaders to support excellence in Catholic education. 
 
Catholic schools in the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board inspire and nurture strong communities of faith, engaged communities of learning and compassionate communities of service.  Encompassing an area of over 16,000 square kilometers, the Board serves more than 11,000 students in 41 schools including adult learning centres.   
 
Interested candidates in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and who hold Supervisory Officers’ qualifications or will hold Supervisory Officers’ qualifications within two years of appointment, are invited to submit a cover letter and resumé clearly stating their education, qualifications, and experience relative to the above requirements, a one page statement of their personal philosophy of Catholic education, as well as three (3) professional references, one of which must be a current pastoral reference.  Please include written authorization with this application in order for us to contact references (under the terms of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act). 

Qualifications: 
 
  • Religious Education Part I
  • A proven record of successful teaching and school leadership 
  •  Current Principal with five (5) years or more of successful school administration experience 
 
 
Desirable Assets: 
  • Religion Specialist
  • Special Education Specialist
  • Experience in both panels

Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Interviews will be scheduled on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26.  In accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the personal information provided is collected under the Education Act and will be used to determine eligibility for employment.  Successful candidates will be required to provide professional references and a police records check as a condition of employment.
