On Thursday, November 8, 40 students from across ALCDSB came together with PeaceQuest for the PeaceQuest Youth Forum: Peace Today, Tomorrow… For our Lifetime, a full day of peace related activities and guest speakers.

Students were present from Nicholson Catholic College, St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School, St. Paul Catholic Secondary School, Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School and Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School.

PeaceQuest is a non-profit organization based in Kingston, Ontario that supports and facilitates peace-building initiatives across Canada.

Led by ALCDSB's Student Trustee, Andrea Brown and other student leaders, the PeaceQuest Youth Forum included a blessing from Elder Kathy Brant and various guest speakers on topics related to restorative justice, truth and reconciliation, peace and the environment, and presentations from veterans.

Students also had the opportunity to reflect and express their creativity with screen printing. They created peace flags which were brought back to their schools to display.

Thank you to PeaceQuest and all students for your collaboration and dedication to peace in our community.
