Community Service

The new Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) requires that each student in Ontario complete 40 hours of community service in order to graduate from high school.

RND Community Service Hours Reporting Process has Changed!

Commencing May 12th, 2013, the procedure for students reporting Community Service Hours has changed. In an effort to reduce paper a completion of community involvement Activities Form has been issued to each student who will be attending RND next year. Students should keep the form at home (with their complimentary RND fridge magnet) and use it to record each activity completed for community service towards the 40 hours graduation requirement. Students must list the activity, its location, the number of hours, and the date of completion as well as the contact's name, telephone number and signature to verify the hours. All of the student's activities will be listed on one form. When 40 hours have been accumulated, or the form is full, students should submit the form to student services for entry into our Maplewood computer system. Hours entered through the previous system have been recorded. Students can also check community service hours through the Maplewood student link on the RND website. If students lose their forms, new ones can be found by clicking the link below. Should students have further questions, they should ask their guidance counsellor.
