Juvenis Art/Poetry Workshop - Gr. 8 & Up

January 18, 2021

rising solitude logoAre you between the ages of 13 and 30 and interested in poetry or visual art? Olivia Ows is a project leader for Blue Canoe's Juvenis Festival, a not-for-profit Arts Festival led by Kingston youth. Her project, Rising Solitude, centres around the idea that "sol", meaning "sun", will soon be on the rise despite these isolating times. Olivia will be leading four monthly workshop sessions over Zoom, with the first hour dedicated to Poetry and the second to Visual Art (participants are free to attend one or both hours). Her project will also culminate in an in-person exhibition to showcase the content produced over the course of the workshop. Touching on the theme of the positive and negative aspects of mental health during the pandemic, Rising Solitude ultimately aims to fuel a strong, creative outlet within a community of like-minded people of any skill level.

Rising Solitude is just one of many opportunities for local youth to explore various art forms! Register for free or discover more Juvenis Festival projects here:
