2021-2022 EcoSchools Certifications Announced

June 30, 2022

EcoSchoolsLogoLarge.pngEach year ALCDSB schools apply for EcoSchools certification by undertaking environmental actions, campaigns, and projects, and then recording them in the online EcoSchools Certification Application (ECA) to earn points.

Participation in the program allows our students, teachers, school administrators, caretakers, and parents to authentically integrate learning experiences within the natural environment and within the school community.

At the end of each school year, applications are assessed by Ontario EcoSchools. Qualifying schools are awarded a final certification level.

Ontario Ecoschools is a rigorous, province-wide certification program which is the vehicle for the Ministry of Education's Policy Framework for Environmental Education in Ontario Schools. The Ontario Ecoschools program places eco-action directly within the sphere of student influence leading to a sense of empowerment and meaningful participation in the local community.

Congratulations to ALCDSB schools who qualified for EcoSchools certification in 2021-2022!
