St. James Major Catholic School Council is a forum through which parents/guardians and other members of our school community can contribute to improve student achievement and well-being. Membership on School Council includes representation from parents/guardians, the parish, the community, teaching and non- teaching staff, and school administration. The role of any school council is to work, as part of the school community, to improve student learning, achievement and well-being.

The School Council is a dynamic and integral part of the school community. All parents/guardians are encouraged to become involved with School Council. As vital members of this school community, your involvement and input are encouraged to help meet the needs of all our children.

Through the organization of social and community building events, as well as fundraising efforts, this group of dedicated members has and will continue to work to support the students and school community. The School Council meets on a regular basis and all meetings are open to parents/guardians from our school community. All meeting dates and minutes of meetings will be posted on the school web-site.

Our first School Council Meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 17th, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Church.  Elections for the new Catholic School Council will be held at this meeting. We invite all parents, especially our new parents to attend and get involved with our council. All are welcome to attend.

If you are interested in serving on the School Council as a Parent/Guardian Member, or you would like more information, please contact Mrs. Dianne LaFortune directly by Friday, September 7th , 2018.
