The Frontenac Falcons went down in flames yesterday against our girls field hockey team who did not allow a goal in the entire game! Jenny Brown played flawlessly to win her first playoff shutout. Kianna Mau scored off a well played assist from Taylor Beaubien while team captain, Nicole Borges scored late in the second half. Melanie Simourd rounded out the scoring in the second half off of a quick pass from Nicole Borges. Congratulations girls! The semis are on Wednesday. The girls need your support to shoot down a high flying Regi so come on out and cheer them on to victory!

The final game of the season was bittersweet for the team. We lost to RND 3 -1 but played a good game. It was a tough game. But we need to remember that we had a very successful season - we only lost two games all season long! That is a phenomenal record! One that we should not overlook. We can thank the Lord that had good weather, minimal injuries and were able to play all of our regular season games despite the political atmosphere. I would call this season highly successful in light of the fact that half of our players are rookies. Our team should be proud of themselves for all of the hard work they put into the year and know that we, the coaches are proud of them. Now, it's on to the playoffs!

The girls field hockey team was victorious over their old nemesis Lasalle beating them 2 - 0. The team exhibited tremendous spirit and played their hearts out! They finally gelled and played as a team. They had quick passes, smooth transitions and forward thinking throughout the game. It was a true pleasure to watch! The playoffs are coming next week and we are in good shape. Hope that that translates to a berth in the semis and then the finals!

The girls field hockey fought hard to emerge victorious over the Frontenac Falcons in regular season play on our field last night with a score of 2 -1. Rookie Caleigh Patterson scored in a scramble in front of the net during a penaulty corner while Captain, Nicole Borges swept in a well stoppped and accurate pass late in the second half from another rookie, Alycia Forshner!

The girls field hockey team suffered their first loss in 6 starts last night losing 4 - 2 against a dominant NDSS. Both goals were scored by Nicole Borges with one assist by Melanie Simourd. Keep trying girls.

The field hockey team tied Sydenham 1-1 in a hard and fast game yesterday. The Holycross goal was scored by Melanie Simourd with an assist by Jessie Therrien. The whole team played extremely well. Kate Schenk's determination and drive was awesome to behold. Well done to the whole team. Field Hockey team members are reminded that the Bus to Tyndall field at Queens is leaving at 2 pm for the game against KCVI. Fourth period teachers are asked to dismiss the Field Hockey team at 1:40 today.

The girls field hockey team won their game against LCVI 5 - 0 with 2 goals from the stick of Brenna Murphy and a goal each for Melanie Simourd, Jessica Therrien and team captain, Nicole Borges. Assists by Jensen Murphy, Taylor Beaubien and others added to the success of the team. All team members played well and worked hard to achieve this result. Goalies Jenny Brown and Ashley Callery earned the shutout. Way to go girls!

The girls opened up their season with a fantastic effort over Bayridge on Thursday. The team was lead by Nicole Borges who scored all four of the teams goal. Great start girls.
