Eastern Regionals - RND Qualifies Eight for OFSAA In Belleville, the Garnet and Gold ran against the best in the Central, Eastern and National Capital regions to qualify for the OFSAA Provincial Track and Field Championships in Etobicoke. 15 individual event athletes and 2 relay teams competed. Matt Godin highlighted RND's success with a first place finish in the Junior boys 100m. The Mercer Brothers, Sonny and Alex, were each second in the Junior and Senior boys 110m hurdles. Hungerford-Kinsmen Invitational Meet 05.10.04 In Brockville this weekend RND's performance was highlighted by: Sam Gouett - first place-Junior Boys 1500m in 4:19 and Alex Mercer - first place - Junior Boys 100m hurdles in 15:34. Queen's Alumni Meet 04.19.04 RND competed on a pleasant day at Richardson stadium this weekend in the first major meet of the 2004 season. RND had many successes during the meet highlighted by the first place victory of the Junior Boys 4 x 100m Relay team (Matt Godin, Mitch Monette, Alex Mercer, Will Choiniere) in a time of 48.73.2 sec. Alex Mercer finished second in the Junior Boys 100m Hurdles in 15.39.2 sec. Another second place finished was achieved by Sam Gouett when he completed the 1500m in the Junior Boys Division in 4.20.26. Bronze was won by Brennan Wright in the Senior Boys 100m. Ashley Gollogly, Todd Allward and Alycha Reda also were awarded 4th place. Bayridge Road Race 04.22.04 A small group of Panthers headed out, only two days before the Queen's Alumni Meet, to compete in the BSS Road Race. In the Midget Girls Division, Aynslee Payne captured a silver medal. RND was even more successful in the Junior Age group when Justin Murphy was fourth in the boys race, while Anne Bouvier netted a Bronze Medal following Nicole Jackson's first place, Gold Medal finish. In the most dominant performance of the meet, in the Senior Girls division it was a Garnet and Gold sweep. Hayla Snider-Bronze, Shannon O'Dwyer-Silver and Ashley Gollogly-Gold provided proof of the promise of the RND track team as they head into years first major meet, the Queen's Alumni, of the 2004 season. TISS Relay Results 04.19.04 RND fashioned many successful results in Brockville at the first track event of the 2004 spring season. The Panthers third place finish in the team competition was highlighted by Todd Allward's victory in the Senior Boys High Jump. Forty Four garnet and gold clad competitors represented RND in the sunshine during the day long event. Steve Carquez highlighted the event for RND with three first place finishes. Track and Field on the Rise at RND 03.12.04 After the near miss of the KASSAA championship last spring the energy within the RND Track and Field program is at an all-time high at RND. Over 80 student-athletes have signed up for practice sessions in preparation for the track and field season.
