Panthers Bound For OFSAA 06.01.09
Track and Field - Results
With the Toronto skyline as the backdrop to varsity stadium, the RND panthers took to the track and field at this year's OFSAA. Under sunny skies on Thursday afternoon Midget boy Ryan Jaros ran a PB in the 400m - 56.10. Friday was a busy day for the panthers as Midget boy Brett Babcock seeded 8 th in the sprint hurdles, finished 3rd in his heat, and made the finals. Midget girl Mary MacDonald ran well in the 100m heats and finished with a time of 13.13. Senior boy Jason Steels, competing in his 4 th OFSAA in the 100m, ran an 11.39. Brett Babcock ran the sprint hurdle finals in the afternoon and captured fifth, it was great to see a panther at center field for the presentation of awards. Not to be out done, senior boy Scott Wilson made it to the award presentation himself when he finished 7 th in the high jump with a jump of 1.90m
Stay tuned because today Midget girl Clara Langley seeded 3 rd in the 3000m, will try to make her way to the award presentations after her race at 4:30.

East Regional Track and Field - Information 05.25.09
This past Thursday and Friday Regi had 17 athletes compete in the East Regional Track and Field Meet in Brockville. From here RND qualified 6 athletes to OFSAA. Highlights of the day include gold medal performances by Midget boy Brett Babcock in the sprint hurdles and Senior boy Scott Wilson in the High jump. Silver was earned by Midget girl Clara Langley in the 3000m, Bronze by sprinters Jason Steels and Mary MacDonald in the 100m, and copper by Ryan Jaros. This will mark a second trip to OFSAA for both Clara Langley and Ryan Jaros, who competed at OFSAA in cross country. EOSSAA Track Results 05.22.09
Yesterday in sunny Brockville, the RND panthers competed in the EOSSAA Track and Field Championship. Highlights of the day include a new EOSSAA record set by Brett Babcock in the midget boys 100m sprint hurdles. Gold and silver medals were earned by midget girls Clara Langley ( 3000m, 1500m) and Mary MacDonald ( HG, 100 m). Vadim Ignatov earned a silver in the midget boys triple jump. Winning bronze were Midget boy Ryan Jaros ( 400m), Senior Boys Jason Steels ( 100m) and Scott Wilson ( HG) and Senior girl Megan Hutcheson ( 800m). Regi will be well represented at East Regionals with a team of 17 competing for a trip to OFSAA. Go panthers, go panthers!!

Winning Conditions for Track and Field 05.15.09
Despite the travel and the weather, Regi track and field athletes turned in some memorable performances at yesterday's KASSAA championship in Belleville. Most notable was Midget Boy - Brett Babcock's triple gold in the 100m, 100m hurdles, and the 200m. Clara Langley's double gold in the midget girls 1500m and 3000m, and single golds were earned by Scott Wilson - Senior boys high jump, Jason Steels senior boys 100m, Megan Hutcheson Senior girls 800m, Brett Arrowsmith Junior boys long jump, Ryan Jaros Midget boys 400m, Mary MacDonald in midget girls high jump and Brittany Almeida midget girls 400m. Capturing silver medals were Collen Robb, Davis sawyer, James Mitchell, Matt Walsh, Graham Fox, Vadim Ignatov, Mary MacDonald and the Open girls 4 x400m - Brittnay Almeida, Mary Allward, Amy Wilson and Megan Hutcheson. Rounding out the medals with bronze were Melanie Robb, Adam Bernicky, Jen Bernicky, Ryan Jaros,Ryan O'Neill,Kenton Greenwood,Mary Allward, Midget boys!

KASSAA Meet Information 05.07.09
As recently reported in the local media the annual Kingston and Area Secondary School Track and Field Championships will take place in Belleville, Ontario on Thursday, May 14.

Fantastic Friday for Track 05.03.09
Despite the wind and cold temperatures this past Friday, the RND track and field team had another successful day of competition in Belleville at the Bay of Quinte Invitational. Highlights of the day were Midget boy, Brett Babcock's double gold medal wins. Brett won the 100m race and set a new meet record of 14.74 in the 100m hurdles. Two other double medal winners were Senior girl, Melanie Robb and Midget girl Clara Langley. Melanie captured gold in the 100m race and silver in triple jump. Clara was a double bronze winner in the 1500 and 3000m races. RND's Brittany Almeida ran to victory in the Midget girls 400m, while Midget boy, Davis Sawyer finished first in the 800m race. Midget girl, Mary MacDonald finished second in the 100m race. Two other bronze medalists were also midget girls, Mary Allward in the 400m and Jennifer Bernicky in long jump. The team will travel to Brockville this coming weekend to participate in the Kinsmen-Hungerford meet.

Track Opens at TISS Pirate Relays 04.18.09
Yesterday, under sunny skies, and strong winds the RND panthers took part in their first Track and Field meet of the season. Capturing gold was Jen Bernicky in the Midget girls Triple jump, Ryan O'Neil in the Midget boys long jump, Vadim Ignatov in the midget boys long jump,the 4x100 m midget boys relay comprised of Ben Catry, Vadim Ignatov, James Mitchell and Matt Mombouquette. Winning silver was Senior Boy Jason Steels in the 100m, Vadim Ignatov in the triple jump, Jen Bernicky in the long jump, midget girls 4x 100m relay of Brittany Almeida, Mary MacDonald, Mary Allward, and Eimear Fitzpatrick, the junior boys sprint medley, with Nick DelMei, Holly Dorman, Tyler Allen, and Brett Arrowsmith. Still impressive with bronze medal performances were Adam Bernicky in Senior boys Javelin, Junior boys 4x 100m, comprised of Nick Del Mei, Holly Dorman, Troy Wiley and Tyler Allen, and lastly the Junior girls sprint medley with Michelle MacKay, Selena Buttle, Amy Wilson, and Avery Michels.
All athletes are to be congratulated for a great start to the season.

Bayridge Road Race Results 04.28.09
The RND middle distance runners took to the streets of Bayridge today in the Bayridge Road race. Despite the rain and wind RND had some stellar finishes, capturing 5 medals. Gold went to midget girl, Clara Langly, midget boy, Davis Sawyer and senior girl, Kassandra Manship. Silver went to senior boy, Taylor Robertson with his teammate Josef Freundorfer, capturing the bronze. Good luck to these athletes and the remainder of the team as they head to Bay of Quinte Invitational this Friday.
TISS Pirates Relays 04.14.09
The RND Panthers will open the Track and Field season when they head east for the first time this season and compete in the Pirates Relay Meet at Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS)
