Headed to Hamilton for OFSAA 05.30.12
The Senior Girls Soccer team qualified for their fourth consecutive OFSAA championship appearance by posting a convincing 3 - 0 record at the EOSSAA championship tournament in Pembroke. A very long day saw the girls on the road by 6:30am to make the long drive to the Ottawa Valley. Wins over Thousand Islands SS (Brockville), Fellows (Pembroke) and St. Joseph's (Cornwall) secured the OFSAA bid and a happy three hour ride home to Kingston.
Next week the Panthers will be in the Steel City for the OFSAA AAA Girls Soccer Tournament. Panther fans can Click Here to link to the OFSAA web site for details about the Ontario Championships.

Four-Peat Championships 05.24.12
The RND senior girls soccer team took to the field at St. Lawrence College against the Frontenac Falcons to contest the 2012 KASSAA championship game. RND opened the scoring after some confusion following a Britanny Almeida corner kick. Gabby Halle was given credit for the goal, and would add to her total late in the first half. Frontenac would level the score at one, but Mary MacDonald quickly replied with a fine finish on the break. Halle would push the lead to 3-1 on the stroke of halftime with a beautiful header inside the far post from another set piece. The Falcons would add another tally in the second half, but the Panthers would finish out the match in style. Almeida converted a penalty after a Frontenac player was sent off for a second yellow card, then rounded out the scoring by converting directly from a corner kick.
The 5-2 victory sees the Panthers capture their fourth consecutive KASSAA championship, and sends them to the EOSSAA championship in Pembroke on Tuesday in an attempt to qualify for the OFSAA tournament in Hamilton.

Qualifying for KASSAA 05.22.12
A daunting sky and wet conditions were the setting for a KASSAA senior girls soccer semifinal at RND, and the visiting Holy Cross Crusaders came out ready to play. The Crusaders opened the scoring in the first half following some consistent pressure, but the Panthers roared back to take the halftime lead. Rachel Bouvier and Tareca Whittingham potted first half markers to stake the Panthers to a 2-1 lead at the break. Bouvier added a second while Emily Rowsell scored two of her own to round out a 5-1 semifinal win. The girls are off to the KASSAA finals for the fifth consecutive year on Thursday at St. Lawrence College.
Senior Soccer Advances 05.14.12
A well balanced game on all fronts saw the Senior Panthers advance comfortably to the KASSAA semifinals. Emily Rowsell scored 2 goals, while Rachel Bouvier, Erin Corrigan, Mady McDonald and Abbi Finnan each scored singles in the 6-0 quarterfinal victory. Clare Kenney picked up the shutout in her debut performance in goal.

Sloppy Season Finale for Senior Girls 05.08.12
A wet, muddy field couldn't stop the RND senior girls from closing out the KASSAA regular season on a winning note. Gabby Halle opened the scoring by converting a corner kick early in the first half, while Rachel Bouvier and Brittany Almeida notched second half markers in the 3-0 win. Stand-in keeper Katy Murphy kept a clean sheet in the win.

Panthers Host Black Knights 05.01.12

RND found themselves in a battle against a game squad of Black Knights in the first half, with Mary MacDonald slotting home the only goal. The 1-0 scoreline wouldn't last, however as Brittany Almeida, Emily Rowsell and Gabby Halle all scratched the scoresheet in the second half of the 4-0 win. Katy Murphy posted her second consecutive shutout in her relief role in net.

Brother O'Gara Field Hosts Spring Opener 04.16.12
In a rematch of last year's KASSAA final, the RND Panthers opened the 2012 regular season against the Napanee Golden Eagles. Some slick first half conditions led to a tentative start by both squads, but Emily Rowsell broke the deadlock with a headed goal following a beautiful cross from Mary MacDonald. MacDonald doubled the lead a short while later, burying a shot in the top corner of the net following some strong play down the right wing. Brittany Almeida pushed the lead to three by scoring from a free kick, and Rachel Bouvier rounded out the scoring following a nice turn and shot in the first half. The weather cleared up for the second half, but the 4-0 lead proved enough to finish off NDSS. Maggie Veitch recorded her first shutout of the season for the win.
