Opener Versus the Falcons 04.26.10
![]() The Sr. Girls soccer team got off to a great start to the season beating the Frontenac Falcons 1-0 in their home opener. Early in the game, the Panthers pressured the Falcons into their own half, creating numerous scoring opportunities in the run of play and from corner kicks. Unfortunately, the Panthers couldn't seem to find the back of the net and went into the half tied 0-0. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Megan Hutcheson finished a well-played through ball from Brittany Almeida off a Regi counter attack, to put the Panthers up for good. The solid back four play of Alicia Rubia, Brieanna Duffy, Jenny Wright, and Kristen Carquez proved to be enough as the Panthers went on to win 1-0. Regi's next game is Wednesday at Holy Cross, with a kick-off time scheduled at 4:30. Well done ladies! KCVI
