Champions:
This Proud Pack of Panthers successfully defended their
KASSAA Crown with a 3 - 2 victory over a resilent Frontenac
Falcon squad. Christine Fraser opened the scoring midway
through the first half when she chipped one over the FSS
keeper. Amanda Stenson boomed in yet another free kick early
in the second half. With the Falcons pressing for the tying
marker, Clare Bouvier struck the decisive blow from the left
side of the box to clinch it for RND. Lyndsay Hazel was once
again solid in goal making several big second-half saves.
The Panthers now move on to EOSSAA, next Friday in Pembroke,
in their back to back OFSAA quest.
Quarter-Final
a Lop-Sided Affair
Finishing in second in the regular season meant RND matched
up against Le Dragons of Marie Rivier in the KASSAA
quarter-final. In a 9 - 0 win Amanda Stenson 2, Adele
Bennett, Claire Bouvier 2, Christine Fraser, Danika Lochhead
and Alison Skoblenick scored for the Panthers. Lyndsay Hazel
secured the shut-out.
Lopsided
Game Versus Cross-Town Rivals
05.11.04
The historic rivalry between RND and KC has heated up
somewhat this year. The Senior Girls Soccer Team poured some
water on the rivalry to cool it off with a convincing 7 - 3
victory over the Blues. Claire Bouvier and Christine Fraser
each scored twice for the 5 wins and 1 loss Panthers.

Golden
Sweep in Fr. Stan Challenge
05.08.04
For the first
time in the three years of the RND versus HC Soccer series
played in memory of Father Stan. RND captured all four games
to sweep the Crusaders off their own field.
Claire Bouvier punched in two second half goals to erase a
one goal half-time deficit and complete the sweep. The
Senior Girls handed the Crusaders their first defeat of the
year in a stirring comeback after HC had scored in the
second minute of the contest.
Panthers
Streak Interupted at Lasalle
05.06.04
The Senior Girls jumped out to an early lead on a goal by
Sam Nuttall and dominated the first half before the Black
Knights countered with two goals to upset the previously
unbeaten Panthers. RND pressed to tie the game but failed to
convert on many good scoring opportunities.
Senior
Shutout Streak Continues 04.29.04
Keeper Lyndsay Hazel conbined with solid defence to post
their third consecutive shutout this week in a 5 - 0 win at
Frontenac on Wednesday afternoon. Sam Nuttall's two goals
led the RND offense with Amanda Stenson, Christine Fraser
and Adele Bennett rounding out the scoring.
Senior
Girls Dominate at Bayridge 04.27.04
Stand out goalkeeping by Lindsay Hazel helped secure RND's
second consecutive shutout as the Panthers bounced Bayridge
4 - 0 at BSS. Sam Nuttall scored twice in stirring fashion
to lead the Panther's offensive attack.
Panthers
Open Soccer Season 04.25.04
On Friday, April 23 the RND Girls Soccer teams travelled to
two different locations to contest the first games of the
2004 Spring Season. The Senior Girls defeated the Sydenham
Golden Eagles 3-0 in Sydenham. The Panthers picked up right
where they left off last year after their championship game
victory and unbeaten season during the 2003 campaign.
Despite losing several players to graduation a mixture of
rookies and veterans of senior play combined with Lyndsay
Hazel's shutout goalkeeping to seal the victory. Adele
Bennett, Danielle Greene and Amanda Stenson each scored for
RND who will continue the season long road trip with games
(check the schedule above) next week.
