Junior Soccer Champions: A much anticipated RND vs KC rematch lived up to it's advance billing when the two top KASSAA squads faced off at Caton's Field on Friday. Anton Toutov pushed RND out to a lead when he converted a penalty kick in the 10th minute. James Draper rose to the occasion in the first half making several outstanding saves as KC pushed forward looking for the tying marker. The Blues broke through midway into the second half, but undaunted the Panthers quickly answered when Eric DaSilva tapped home a loose ball in the crease. The championship is RND's second in three years and provided proof of the bright soccer future at RND. 14 Grade 9's from this year will return to attempt to defend their championship next year.
