Baseball Panthers Advance 05.21.10
RND pitchers Adam Bernicky, Jesse Gratton and Matt Labranche combined for 15 strikeouts over 7 innings to lead the RND Panthers to a 9-1 victory over the LCVI Lancers in quarter-final playoff action at Megaffin Stadium. Labranche scored twice and had 2 rbi for the Panthers.

Regular Season Finale at Megaffin 05.17.10
In the final contest of the KASSAA regular season the Panthers scored 9 runs in the top of the first off of 8 hits on their way to a 15 - 1 victory. Mike Lamothe pitched four innings of one hit ball, striking out seven, and Eric Blanck made a big league backhand play at second to rob LC of another hit in the four. Michael Murphy scored twice, had 4 rbi and 4 hits. Adam Bernicky had a triple, two doubles and scored 3 times.

Baseball Battles Bayridge 10.15.10
Grade Nine Mike Lamothe pitched 4 innings, scattering 3 hits and striking out 6 in his first stint on the high school mound, as the undefeated RND Panthers improved to 4-0-1 on the year with a 10 - 3 win over the Bayridge Blazers.

Late Inning Rally Versus the Knights 10.14.10

The Regiopolis-Notre Dame Panthers pulled off a dramatic last-at-bat rally to tag the La Salle Black Knights with their first regular- season loss in three seasons of high school baseball play. The Panthers, down 6-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, pushed across five runs on four hits and a couple of walks. Casey Nontell's double down the third base line drove in two runs. Mitch Noonen's single brought in another run and Ben Blasko's single put the tying run at third base. A wild pitch scored another run and then after a strikeout, Mackenzie Sawyer was at the plate when the winning run was balked in. The rally made Matt Labranche the winning pitcher. Regi had been held to two hits up until the sixth by starter John Ivimey and relief pitcher Connor Collett. The defeat broke La Salle's winning run over the regular season at 17 games. Regi now has three wins and a tie, to remain the only unbeaten team. The Knights are 3-1.

Flying High Versus the Golden Eagles 10.05.10
Adam Bernicky fanned 6 over 3 innings, and Logan Willits preserved the win for the Panthers with a shutout final frame. The pair scattered 8 hits over four innings. Graham Fox and Casey Nontell hit for extra bases and 3 rbi in the first and second respectively. Jesse Gratton had 2 rbi on a single in the first. RND High Scorers: Matt Labranche-- 2 runs, Graham Fox-- 3 rbi triple, 2 runs, Casey Nontell-- 3 rbi double.

Baseball Tie? 05.06.10
Vadim Ignatov hit an inside the park homerun, doubled and scored twice, as the RND Panthers clawed back to a tie with the KCVI Blues.
Jesse Gratton pitched three scoreless innings and Mat Labranche pitched a scoreless 7th to seal the tie.
Adam Bernicky scored in the 7th on a clutch two strike single by Grade 12 rookie Ben Blasko.

Opening Day Baseball 05.05.10
Matt Labranche pitched 1 hit ball over 4 innings and rookie Logan Willitts scored twice as the RND Panthers downed the Frontenac Falcons 7 - 3 on Tuesday afternoon at Megaffin field. In RND's opening KASSAA game, Eric Blanck scored twice and then headed to the mound to pitch the final inning. RND High Scorers: Eric Blanck -- 2 runs, Mat Labranche-- 1 run, Logan Willitts-- 2 runs, Graham Fox-- 1 run.

Panthers in the Home of Baseball 01.05.10
RND traveled to Cooperstown, New York for a pre-season contest on Abner Doubleday field this weekend. This historic ball park is adjacent to the Baseball Hall of Fame. For the second year the Garnet and Gold faced the Holy Cross Crusaders in a much anticipated game. Game ball went to Logan Willitts who pitched two innings, knocked in 3 RBI and made key assists in the field, including a strike to home plate to thwart a suicide squeeze late in the game. Another RND baseball rookie, Casey Nontell posted 4 RBI on the day.
The Panthers prevailed over HC 9 - 7 and look forward to the start of the KASSAA campaign next week.



Annual Trip to Cooperstown 04.21.10
For the second season in a row the Panthers will prepare for the upcoming KASSAA campaign on historic Abner Doubleday field, adjacent to the Baseball Hall of Fame, in Cooperstown, New York.
