Cross Country Runs Away to OFSAA 11.04.12 RND Panthers took to the trails of Heart Lake, Brampton, today despite the frigid temperatures to compete in the OFSAA Cross Country Championship. Over 1200 runners took part in the 7 races. Branna MacDougall, did not disappoint fans, when she captured a 10 th place finish in the Midget girls race. The Midget boys team was led once again by Paul Sagriff's top 25 finish in the Midget boys race. ( Paul Bouvier,158, Braiden Foster 171, and Anson Hunt 190) The team captured 18 th place. Next up was the Senior girls, led once again by Emily Drouin ( 38 th) Marisa Rostek ( 123) Julie Bates ( 150) Sarah Sanders ( 165) and Noel DeSasio ( 224) thus giving the girls an 11 th place team finish. Under sunny skies, the RND Panthers took the trails in Kemptville
for the EOSSAA Championship. Winning gold, and remaining undefeated
for the season thus far was Midget girl Branna MacDougall. The Midget
boys team, led again by Paul Sagriff ( 4th) earned silver and a trip
to OFSAA. Paul Bouvier ( 19) Braiden Foster ( 27) Anson Hunt ( 35)
and Ben Griggs comprised the squad. The Senior girls followed suit and earned a silver medal of their own. Emily Drouin was third, Marisa Rostek, 8 th, Sarah Sanders 17 th, Julie Bates 19 th and Noel and Megan DeSasio all qualified for OFSAA! The Senior boys and junior Boys teams also ran well in the largest race of the season. Thanks for a great year, and good luck to all Panthers next week. The Midget girls started the day off with another individual Gold Medal for Branna MacDougall, and placed third as a team with Mairead Corrigan finishing 5 th, Emma Ashade was 12th and Elizabeth Horeczy was 14 th. The Midget boys team won gold led once again by Paul Sagriff's silver, followed by Paul Bouvier (7) Anson Hunt (10), Braiden Foster (12) and Ben Griggs (22). The Junior boys were led by Isiah Higgs (10) next was Josh Kirby (18) and Kyle Collyer (21). Both senior team earned medals. The girls won gold led by Emily Drouin's silver place finish, followed by Marissa Rostek (4),Julie Bates (7), Sarah Sanders (9), Noel DeSasio (16) and Megan Desasio (23).The Senior boys earned silver, led by Kevin Bates third place finish, followed by Ryan Jaros (15), Martin Smith-Frutti (21), Nate Murphy (23), Malcolm Hamilton ( 26), Peter Freunderfor, Sergio! of Quinte Cross Country Result 10.14.12The RND Panthers cross country team headed west to beautiful Brighton, Ontario to compete in the Bay of Quinte Invitational. Over 600 athletes participated in the six races. Midget girl, Branna MacDougall broke the course record by 19 seconds enroute to yet another gold medal. The Midget boys team earned bronze again, led by Paul Sagriff's silver medal performance. Senior girls also won bronze led by the top ten finishes of Marissa Rostek ( 6 th) and Julie Bates ( 8th). th Annual Turkey Trot Race 10.04.12With a beautiful fall day, the Panthers cross country team travelled to Kemptville to compete in Pre- EOSSAA. Highlights of the day include a repeat gold and a turkey, for midget girl, Branna MacDougall. The senior girls team also repeated as gold medal winners led by Emily Drouin's silver place finish. The Midget boys captured a bronze medal, led by the 4 th place finish of Paul Sagriff. Junior girl, Samantha Mahoney earned a top 15 spot, and Senior boy Kevin Bates was 7 th. Limestone Invitational Cross Country Meet 09.27.12 With beautiful fall weather, the Regi Panthers cross country team headed over the causeway to Fort Henry to compete at the Limestone meet. The team captured medals in 5 of the 6 races. Starting the day, with her second gold medal two weeks in a row, was Midget girl Branna MacDougall. In the Midget boys race, Paul Sagriff earned a silver, and paced the team to a bronze medal finish. Samantha Mahoney won bronze in the Junior girls race. The Senior girls team of Emily Drouin, Julie Bates, Sarah Sanders, Megan and Noel DeSasio, earned gold, behind the second place finish of Emily Drouin. Country Meet and Medals
09.19.12Today under sunny skies and with a cool breeze the RND Panthers Cross Country team opened their season by attending the 30 th Annual Trinity Harriers' Invitational Meet in Port Hope. Over 1200 athletes from 61 schools competed in the six races. Highlights of the day include a gold medal for midget girl Branna MacDougall. The midget boys earned 15th place behind Paul Sagriff's top 40 finish. Junior girl, Samantha Mahoney raced to a top 25 th finish. Josh Kirby led all junior boys with 78 th place in a race with over 190 entries. In Senior action, the girls team was led by Julie Bates (28th) and the boys team was led by Kevin Bates (50th). All runners are to be congratulated for conquering " Mount Trinity". Next week's race is at Fort Henry. The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board does not provide any accidental death, disability, dismemberments medical/dental expenses insurance on behalf of the students participating on school teams. To cover any potential medical or dental costs, parents are encouraged to consider purchasing the Student Accident Insurance Plan made available by Regiopolis-Notre Dame at the beginning and throughout the school year. Participation is voluntary and costs are to be paid by the parent or guardian. This insurance will provide coverage for school activities as well as activities outside of the school day.
