Cross Country is Running to OFSAA 11.02.11
The RND Panther Cross Country Running team has qualified two student-athletes to represent Canada's Oldest English Catholic School at the high school provincial championships. Kevin Bates (Junior Boys Division) and Clara Langley (Senior Girls Division) The OFSAA Cross Country Meet is a true Ontario Championship as schools are not divided based on their school population and the best runners from all over Ontario will compete against each other in the races. OFSAA Results: Under sunny skies and great course conditions Kevin Bates and Clara Langley represented Regi at the OFSAA Cross Country Championship in Ottawa. Kevin Bates finished in the top 50 in the Junior Boys race which had 250 runners. Clara Langley captured 5 th place in the Senior girls race which had over 260 athletes. EOSSAA Cross Country Results 10.27.11
Today the Panthers competed in the EOSSAA Championship in Kemptville. Qualifying for OFSAA was junior boy, Kevin Bates with a bronze medal performance, and Clara Langley continued her winning ways with another gold medal in the senior girls race. The midget boys were led by Josh Kirby, the junior girls were led by Megan Desasio, the junior boys captured 6 th as a team, and the senior girls finished 7 th. The senior boys were led by Will Langley and followed closely by Davis Sawyer. It was a strong season for all Panthers. Good luck to Kevin and Clara!

KASSAA Cross Country Championships 10.22.11
Yesterday, the Panthers took to the trails in LeMoine Point to compete for the KASSAA cross country championship. The Midget boys started the day off well by earning a bronze behind the races of Jeremy Arnold ( 10 ) Lucas van Nest ( 13) Josh Kirby ( 15) and Ryan Almeida ( 17). The Junior girls were led once again by Megan DeSasio's 6 th place finish, next was Noel DeSasio and then Sarah Botros. Junior boy Kevin Bates won for the 3rd week in a row and the team captured silver. Adrain Soyic was 10 th, Rob Brown was 13 th and Michael Aide was 17 th. In fine fashion Clara Langley won gold in the senior girls race, and the team earned 4 th. Julie Bates and Shannon Wiley both cracked the top 20. In Senior boys action, the largest race of the day with 8 teams and 45 athletes, saw Regi capture silver. They were led by Will Langley ( 6 th) Davis Sawyer ( 9th) Tyler Ingram ( 16) Martin Smith - Futtit ( 24, with only one shoe) Nate Murphy ( 25) and Dan Graham ( 30)As t!
The final team scores were tallied, Regi finished with Silver. Off to EOSSAA next week, and a chance to qualify for OFSAA.

Cross Country Results from the Bay of Quinte 10.14.11
The Panthers took to the trails in beautiful Brighton, competing at the Bay of Quinte Invitational. The Midget boys were led by Lucas van Nest and Josh Kirby. Megan Desasio cracked the top 20 in the junior girls race. Kevin Bates captured gold for the second week in a row in the Junior Boys race. Marisa Rostek led the Senior girls to a 6 th place finish with her 10 ten performance. And the Senior boys, who had to fight the rain, mud, wind, and dropping temperatures were led by Tyler Ingram. Next week the Panthers tried to defend their KASSAA championship at LeMoine Point on Friday.

A Light Schedule on Thursday 10.06.11
The RND Panthers cross country team headed to Kemptville to compete in the 4 th Annual Turkey Trot and race the EOSSAA course for this year. Returning to RND with a gold medal and a turkey was junior boy, Kevin Bates. Also reaching the podium was Senior girl Marisa Rostek who captured bronze. Other highlights include a strong performance by the midget boys led by Lucas VanNest, the junior girls led by Megan DeSasio and the Senior boys led by Will Langley. Off to Brighton next week for the Bay of Quinte Meet.
Cross Country Opening Meet 09.21.11
Under sunny skies the RND Panthers took to the trails and the "Mountain" at the 29 th Annual Trinity College Harrier meet today. Highlights of the day include a Gold medal for Senior Girl Clara Langley, racing in behind her were Marisa Rostek and Julie Bates. Kevin Bates just missed the top ten with a 12 th place finish in the Junior boys race. Midget boy Ryan Almeida cracked the top 50 in his race,and Megan and Noel DeSasio represented Regi well in the junior girls race. In the last race of the day, with over 200 competitors Senior boys Tyler Ingram and Malcolm Hamilton conquered the Mountain twice in the 7.2 km course. Next week it is the Limestone Invitational at Fort Henry.

September 2011 - Tryouts
Regiopolis-Notre Dame Student-Athletes return to school on Tuesday, September 6. RND coaches will be prepared for the upcoming KASSAA Fall Sports season on day one with information about sign-up meetings and tryout sessions available through: Hallway Posters, Morning Announcements and Postings on the RND Scoreboard web site.

All RND Student-Athletes must complete and submit to a RND Teacher Coach a Student Athlete Participation Form before participating in any tryout session. These forms can be downloaded and printed (Click Here) for careful completion before the first tryout session.

Student Accident Insurance
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board does not provide any accidental death, disability, dismemberments medical/dental expenses insurance on behalf of the students participating on school teams. To cover any potential medical or dental costs, parents are encouraged to consider purchasing the Student Accident Insurance Plan made available by Regiopolis-Notre Dame at the beginning and throughout the school year. Participation is voluntary and costs are to be paid by the parent or guardian. This insurance will provide coverage for school activities as well as activities outside of the school day.
