Volleyball Panthers Pursue Perfection 09.02.08
The
Regi Panthers capped off their unbeaten regular season with a gratifying KASSAA victory. They started the season strong with many returning players and never missed a beat. Every Panther made a significant contribution in each and every victory throughout the season.

Panthers Retain Volleyball Crown

Taken from the Kingston Whig Standard

By the end of the season, the Regiopolis-Notre Dame Panthers did things on the volleyball court that coach Pat Farrell said would not have been possible at the beginning of the high school junior boys season.
Yesterday, the Panthers displayed that improvement with an emphatic 3-0 match victory over Arnprior to nail down the Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Association junior volleyball title for a second straight year.
"These guys are some of the classiest guys I've worked with," Farrell said of his players.
"Where we were at the start of the year compared to where we finished, we were two different teams."
The Panthers were a perfect 11-0 to win the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association title, winning 3-0 in Sunday's final against Ernestown.
Yesterday's performance was equally strong with Regi winning sets 25-10, 25-10 and 25-17.
Setter Cameron Santoni led the Panthers with 22 assists and 12 kills. Left-side player Peter Sheahan also had a dozen kills.
"This caps our season off nicely," Farrell said.
Besides the KASSAA and EOSSAA crowns, the Panthers also won a tournament in Richmond Hill and the Royal Military College Classic and were runners-up twice. The team's season record was 40-2.
Farrell was able to employ all 19 players during points of the match against Arnprior, the lone EOSSA challenger. Half the juniors will move up to senior next season.

Back to Back Unbeaten 11.11.07
For the second straight season the Junior Boys Volleyball Panthers Roared through their KASSAA opponents on the way to a perfect record. The Panthers closed out their campaign with a convincing straight set victory over the Ernestown Eagles on the court at Queen's Bartlett Gym. After a even beginning to the match, RND closed out a close game one before dominating their opponents in the second game. RND, perhaps too eager to get their paws on the trophy, fell well behind in the third game. However this set the stage for their most impressive display as the team continued to positively encourage each other as they slowly climbed back into the game before sealing it with a 25-23 victory.
The Panthers will now host the EOSSAA championship on Thursday.
