Unbeaten,
Back to Back Champions11.08.04
Following
the same dominating pattern that they used all year the
Junior Boys Volleyball team successfully defended their
KASSAA championship with a 3 - 1 win over the Sydenham
Golden Eagles. An enthusiastic Garnet and Gold cheering
section witnessed the Panthers jump out to commanding lead
in the first, third and fourth sets of the match. Only poor
serving from RND and some timely hitting from a tall and
talented group of Golden Eagles kept the eventual outcome in
doubt for a brief period. Dustin Garrett's and A.J. Conway's
digging, Daniel McBride's setting and the hitting of Joe
O'Neill, Mike Walsh and Derek Wilson acted to secure an
unbeaten KASSAA campaign and a second start championship for
RND.
With a very busy week of continued RND success ahead, please
keep checking back over the next week for a more complete
game report, action pictures and a championship movie from
RND's first conquest at Bartlett so far this year.
Congratulations
Panthers !!!
Junior
Volleyball Headed to Bartlett
11.04.04
Winning a Championship is difficult, but defending a title
is an even bigger task. The Junior Boys Volleyball team will
attempt the rare feat after securing a 3 - 0 KASSAA
semi-final victory over the Loyalist Lancers. The Panthers
remain undefeated in the new gym and will attempt to take
their experience in "the big house" to Queen's University
and the Bartlett Gym on Monday evening for the KASSAA
championship.
Check
back to the RND Scoreboard for more details and preparation
for parents and fans on the road to
Bartlett.
Junior Boys
Volleyball Quarter-Final: The Junior Boys played very
well winning 3-0. Well Done. Come out to support
the Panthers on Thursday.
Tournament Win
is Preparation for the Playoffs
10.31.04
In the playoff semi-finals RND defeated Arnprior 2 games to
0 while Holy Cross defeated Bayrdige 2-0. In the
finals Regiopolis played some of their finest volleyball of
the season to defeat their cross town Catholic rivals 2-
0. The boys dominated the first set to win 25- 9 and
held on to win the 2nd set 25-19. Joseph O' Neill had
a particularly strong tournament hitting the ball while
Derek Wilson and Daniel McBride continue to lead the way.
Congratulations
on the tournament win boys! Ernestown will
now be the focus of attention as the first ever playoff
games in the new gym will be Tuesday Nov. 2nd. Go
Panthers.
RND Close Out
the Regular Season with a Win
10.26.04
The Junior boys wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1
victory (25-13, 25-16, 17-25, 25-15) over LCVI. Derek
Wilson led the way with 11 service points and Mike Walsh had
10 kills for the victors. The boys are hosting a
tournament this weekend with the first game being held
Friday against Holy Cross at 3:15.
Big Contest in
the North 10.21.04
The RND Junior Panthers played their best defensive match of
the season to pull off the straight set victory. By
shutting down Sydenham's big hitters and serving
aggressively, the boys controlled the contest from beginning
to end. Dan McBride had another excellent performance
distributing the ball to all five hitters and John Bosica
made numerous defensive saves to keep rallies going.
Two matches left before the real season begins.
Panthers Regain
Confident From at RND vs FSS
10.15.04
RND Junior Boys had a strong game from start to finish in
defeating the Falcons of Frontenac in three straight games.
The team's intensity and enthusiasm was much improved and
this translated into more confident play. Michael
Walsh, Joseph O'Neill, and Derek Wilson had 7 kills
apiece. Keep up the good work boys, big week
coming up.
Juniors Start the
Sweep of the Crusaders 10.13.04
Junior Boys
Volleyball overcame a sloppy effort and held on for a 3
games to 1 victory over Holy Cross. The effort will
need to improve as the Junior Panthers push the
playoffs.
Panthers Bounce the
Blues 10.08.04
Junior Boys Volleyball won 3 straight games playing their
best match this season and are now 5 and 0.
Dustin Garrett had a strong game passing and Joseph O'Neill
and Michael Walsh were strong at the net.
Snuffed Out the
Dragons 10.05.04
The RND boys served tough and took advantage of free balls
to earn their 4th straight KASSAA victory.
Tough match this Thursday versus their inner city rival
KCVI. Come on out to support the team.
Junior Record Improves
in Odessa 09.29.04
With a 3 games to1 win over the hometown Ernestown Eagles
the Panthers extended their perfect KASSAA record.
The boys played well enough to get the win but still have
many improvements to make. Strong passing by Marcus Ruffalo
and John Bosica and tough serving by Daneil McBride and
Travis Rizzi led the boys to victory. Three and 0 in the
league, keep it going!
Northern Panthers No
Match for Southern Panthers
09.28.04
In
an uninspiring game against poorly matched teams the RND
Panthers convincingly defeated the Sharbot Lake High School
Panthers in straight sets in the RND Gym. The victory moves
RND to 2 - 0 in KASSAA play.
Panthers Start in the
Win Column 22.09.04
RND travelled to Lasalle and came away with a 3-1 win. Dan
McBride was a controlled setter and also contributed to the
victory with a powerful jump serve. Marcus Ruffolo did a
good job setting the ball in his first high school game.
Every Panther played in an attempt to fine-tune their game
for future opponents.
