Junior Football
Advances to Semi in a Battle with the Blues 10.30.11
The Brother O'Gara field hosted another installment of one of Ontario's
oldest football rivalries as the RND Panthers edged out the KCVI Blues in
KASSAA playoff action. A Nick Carriere field goal in the second quarter
opened the scoring for the Garnet & Gold. A victory capping fourth quarter
touchdown by Sean Mombourquette on a two yard dive offered the Panther a
chance to continue their attempt to defend their KASSAA Crown from 2010.
Junior Football
Finale - A Win at Lake Sydenham 10.30.11
Sydenham is one of the toughest road games in the KASSAA loop and it is
especially difficult late in the football season. The Junior Panthers put
together their most complete effort of the season in a solid 13 - 0 win
over the Golden Eagles. Strong running by Sean Mombourquette of over 100
yards was coupled with an opportunistic defence that recorded 4 interceptions.
Jordan Pringle scored on a 35 yard Field goal. Sean Mombourquette added
a second major for RND when he went off tackle for 35 yards. A suffocating
defence posted the shutout and is improving just in time for the playoff
run.
Success
on a Soaken Day
10.20.11
Faced with a very
muddy playing surface following the senior contest the Junior match was
a bit of a slippery slugfest with Napanee DSS. The Panthers scored 2 touchdowns
on running plays of 25 and 45 yards by Stuart Mulholland. The final first
half major was courtesy of a 2 yard dive by Nick Zanet. .All touchdowns
wer converted by Nick Carriere. RND added a 3rd quarter field goal by Nick
Carriere. The Junior Panthers have a final regular season contest next week
when they travel to Sydenham on October 28.
Friday Football
Fortunes Versus in Odessa 10.14.11
The Panthers
notched a momentum building victory versus the Eagles of Ernestown in Odessa.
The final score was 31 - 9. Sean Mombourquette 2 tds, Chris Niles 1 td,
Will Gouett 1 td, Nick Carriere 3 converts, and Matteo Coimbra 2 pt safety
were the scorers for RND.
