Our class Trip To RKY Camp

The day that we were going to RKY Camp I felt so excited. I couldn't wait till we got there. I was wondering what my group was doing first. On the bus I was always thinking about all the activities we would do. When I got there I jumped out of the bus and onto the grounds.

Archery

Canoeing

Kayaking

High Wall (Rock Climbing)

Arts and Crafts

Survival

Conclusion

Archery

Archery was the first activity that we did. Archery was very fun. I did better than I thought I would. I hit the target a lot of times and then a counselor put a balloon on each target and if we hit the balloon we got a treat. My friend hit two balloons and got a big freeze. I missed the target three times. I did archery at a different camp before but this camp had much better bows and better arrows.

Canoeing

Canoeing was not very fun. Nathan and Kyle were in my canoe. I was the sterner. We went to a place called Turtle Bay. I saw about twenty turtles. At one point two canoes went father ahead then ours and another and when ever we tried to catch up with the two canoes the other canoe always blocked us. When we went straight they cut us of and pushed us away. They were going around in circles and stopping us. We never caught up so we went back to the dock.

Kayaking

Kayaking was the best by far. It was hard going straight. I always turned when I didn't want too. Later Mr.Couture came in and started splashing us. I was soaking wet. Then the counselor asked us if we wanted to try a trick or not. I didn't because I thought I would get in trouble if I got wet because I forgot a change in cloths. I got on the deck and then thought that I should have tried the trick because I was already wet and then the counselor said that I could jump in because I didn't fall in, so I did. The water was freezing but I was glad I jumped in.

High Wall (Rock Climbing)

High Wall was pretty fun. We put on our harness and then the first two people put on helmets. I was second and Tara was first. We went up one at a time. At one point Tara wanted to get down even though she was two steps from the top. Then when it was my turn I had trouble reaching one stone and I found out why Tara wanted down. It was hard for us because we were the smallest in the group. I am a bit taller and I just managed to grab onto the stone. In the end I was the first in our group to touch the top. Tara went a second time because she really wanted to touch the top and the second time she did.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and Crafts was the worst thing. We went on a hike and gathered sticks. Then we went back and built a picture frame out of the sticks. Then when we were finished we played on the piano and played at the soccer table.

Survival

Survival was a game that we played in the end. There are herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. There is also a hunter, fire, Mac trucks and flood. Then there is food, water and mother nature. Herbivores have 7 life chips, omnivores have 5 and carnivores have 3. Carnivores can eat (touching) herbivores and omnivores, stay away from fire, flood, Mac trucks and hunter. They also have to find someone who is water. Omnivores can eat herbivores and have to find food and water. They have to stay away from fire, flood, hunter, Mac trucks and carnivores. Then there is herbivores, they have to find food and water. They have to stay away from everyone. Fire and flood go around touching people and they have get one life chip from each person. They don't have lives. The Mac trucks walk on the road and take life chips from people who they catch on the road. Food and water are people who walk around and mark people with a F or a W for food and water. Everyone needs water and omnivores and herbivores need food. Mother nature will give you a life chip if you lost one. She will only give you one if you dance, sing or make a joke. The hunter has too see you and saw "bang," and pretend he has a gun. Then you give him a chip. I was a herbivore and I felt like I was being hunted. I got food.

Conclusion

That was my trip to RKY Camp. I had a lot of fun there and I didn't want to leave. I wish I could go back next year and I think I will. I had fun doing kayaking, archery, high wall (rock climbing), arts and crafts and last but not least survival.
