I, Tammy Levesque was walking around looking at Greece through my courtyard with my mother Katherine Levesque while my brother Matt and my father Chad were out fishing.
I thought to myself, why am I only allowed to go to my friend's for a certain amount of time and my brother and father are allowed to go anywhere in Greece?
It wasn't fair because the Olympics were coming to Greece and there was good news and bad news. The good news was that the Olympics were coming to Greece like I told you, the bad news was that women weren't allowed to watch and could only participate in the Chariot race and win only if they owned the horse. My family owned two horses and my mom would love to do the Chariot race so I pleaded that she would do the Chariot race and she finally said yes!
My mother and I practiced daily in our courtyard until the night before. My mother was so nervous because she thought she would not win so I wished her good luck and we went to bed. It was the big day and my mother was so nervous. I told her to go out there and have a good time, if you do not win i'll be proud that you even particapated.
Now one day she will be proud of me because it's my turn to wear a medal, not just for mjy country but for my mother, Katherine.
I am now twenty one years old and I am participating in the Olympics with my horse Lata. We got ready and by the end of the chariot race we had won the gold medal for my great mom, Katherine.
It is 1759 and I, Emma Lafave was boarding a brand new ship named the Seahawk. It looked like a very nice ship.
On the ship there would be 14 people. There would be me, my baby sister Charlotte, Lauren, Terri, Kaleigh, Sam, the crew and the Captain.
Lauren was my sister and Terri was Sam and Kaleigh's daughter. We were to meet at the ship at a quarter past two but they did not show up. The crew told us that it would be only two girls and 8 boys! At least Lauren and I were not on our own. We got our trunks and went to our cabin. We requested that we have the same cabin with a good size room. We were so lucky because they gave us the second largest room on the boat. We unpacked our trunks for the long journey ahead of us. There were two beds and there was not a crib for Charlotte so we made a comfy bed on the floor. When we woke up the next morning the ship had already set sail. All of a sudden the Seahawk ran into a hurricane . The waves kept hurling over the side of the boat. All of a sudden the boat started sinking but I could not die I was too young!!!
One minute we were in a hurricane and the next minute we were on land without a shelter. We had a great idea to take the wood of the boat and make a shelter. The food that was left in the boat would also be transfered to the hut we made. By the end of the day we had home with our trunks, blankets and food. One day when we were running out of our supplies we saw a boat which eventually saw us and picked us up. On our way to America we told the people on the boat what had happened and when we got to America we thanked them so much and hoped to see them and the crew again.
You would never think a monkey would come alive right? Wrong. It was my monkey that came alive . It was a Friday night and I was so bored with my monkey that I temporarily put him in my trash can.
When I woke up I realized that my monkey was not there, so I quickly looked around on the floor but he was no where to be seen. Then I realized he was hanging from my light. ALIVE!
I just couldn't believe it that I closed my eyes and opened them again but nothing had changed. I was so frightened that my mom would find out but she wasn't up yet. Thank Goodness!!!
When my monkey finally realized I was there he jumped down to greet me. He said Hi then went and made a mess in my room. I ran around clambering up all my things. Thank Goodness it was summer and there was no school. I had all summer to take care of this monkey.
What was I going to do when school started? I would have to like experiment to make him like stuffed again.
I've got it!! It was the trash can. When I put him in the trash can last night he must have turned real. There must be something magic about the trash can that turned my monkey real. It was so cool and kind of weird.
It was weird because I had never dreamed of having my stuffed animal come alive. I was thinking of telling my friends Jamie and Hal. They might not be interested but it was worth a try.
The next day I pleaded to my mom to let me have Jamie and Hal over. Then she finally said Yes! After that I called Jamie and asked her if she wanted to come over. After I called Jamie I called Hal and they were both allowed!!! They came over and I showed them my monkey. They were so stunned they kept blinking as if it was not true although they knew it was.
Later I asked my mom if Jamie and Hal could sleep over , and my mom said yes. I asked Jamie and Hal if they wanted to and they finally said yes.
After their moms dropped off their stuff my mom ordered a pizza and we had an absolute blast!
We went to the movie store and rented a movie and after my mom payed for it we went back to my house and watched it. The movie was called Me, Myself and Irene. We all agreed that we haven't had such a good laugh in years.
When we went to sleep it was about 1: 30 am. When we got up it was 11:00 am. What can I say we were tired. I made breakfast which was eggs, toast and cereal.
We went to check out my monkey and when I opened the door, my room was a mess or as you call it a pigsty. It looked like the monkey was living in the forest and decided to wreck all my stuff. Obviously my stuff was interfering with his home or in other words: my room. I was furious and stunned at the same time, in other words I was very, very mad.
That night when Jamie and Hal had gone home I took that monkey and put him in my trash can. When I woke up he was the same old monkey. I decided to clean up my room. It looked so good. No monkey hanging off my light. No mess under the bed in the closet and anywhere else.
I was so glad that my monkey was still a stuffed monkey, not a monkey that was alive. And today that monkey is sitting on my bed being as unlively as can be.
When I think back to my story I call it the wackiest monkey.
I stepped up to the beam and began to do my show as I worked through each trick perfectly. I could hear the crowd cheering me on in the background.
I was most worried about the flip that was coming up. I decided that I could do each trick just as perfectly as any other gymnast could. I was trying to get a gold, silver or bronze medal for Canada.
My flip was next and........ I fell off the beam!! This was the most embarrassing thing that had ever happened to me. It was so embarrassing.
I ran into the changeroom. I didn't want to watch any more gymnasts because I knew I had let everyone down. I hoped Canada still wins a medal.
My fellow gymnast came into the changeroom with a gold medal and I knew that Canada had done quite well at the Olympics. I ran to my fellow gymnast and hugged and congratulated her.
On Remembrance Day,
We remember the War,
And those who fought,
It was gore.
Some people lived,
And families cried,
Because some came home,
But some people died.
So we wear the poppy,
With respect and pride,
As we remember those people,
Who gave their lives.
Remembrance Day affects me because my Dad is in the Army. You should respect the soldiers who lost their lives in World War 1 and in World War 2.
On Remembrance Day we wear the poppy which is made out of cloth because all the real poppies would be dead by then.
The soldiers who lived chose the date, November 11th to show that they remembered their friends who had died in the war.
Now everyone who respects the men who gave their lives in World War 1 and World War 2 will wear a poppy on Remembrance Day. All across Canada people will wear a poppy to show that they remember the people who fought in the wars and died for Canada.
Sometimes people will make a donation to The Royal Canadian Legion which helps the veterans who don't have very much money to live on.
So I hope that you will wear a poppy on Remembrance day and remember the soldiers who fought and died.
Tracy had a boring life. Her family never went on vacations or even went shopping! They always ordered their clothes from magazines and catalogues! Her family was neither rich nor poor but they didn't have much money.
They lived in a tiny cabin in the forest and didn't have very many friends. Tracy and Mandy were home schooled because there were no public schools in the area and the closest one was almost two hours away. They didn't live very close to any houses. They were a very lonely family.
Then one day her family won $3,000,000 dollars in the Lotto 649! Their father and mother said goodbye to their jobs and quickly moved to their dream place to live, Sydney, Australia. They moved into one of the best Neibourhoods and one of houses too. Their parents quickly enrolled their kids in high school and they bought Tracy and Mandy each a puppy. Tracy named her Black Lab Luke and Mandy named her Golden Retriever Jake.
They owned a successful Hotel called Lakeshore that was on the waterfront. They had 1000 guest rooms, 50 suites and 10 theme rooms ( like with a theme in it like air balloons and space). They made about a half a million dollars a year and they were the richest family in Sydney, Australia. Although they were rich they were one of the friendliest families in the neighborhood. They didn't show that they were rich they just pretended that they were the same as everybody else.
The neibors all knew that the kids, Tracy and Mandy were great. They babysat kids in the neighborhood and got the best compliments on their babysitting. That awarded them to come for dinner and babysit again. The parents always told them that they had never had any better babysitters ever, but they would have to get some new babysitters for awhile.
They went on a vacation during the summer holidays when school ended. They went to Alaska and then were going to go to Hawaii to warm up.
When they went to Alaska their parents bought everyone big fur coats and puffy snow pants. They rented 4 snowmobiles to explore Alaska. They stayed in Alaska for two and a half weeks then made their way to Hawaii.
In Hawaii they went to the beach after they booked into a Hotel down along the beach for two weeks, got their bathing suits on and left. They came back from the beach at 7:00 p.m. then went down to have dinner.
The two weeks flew buy like wild fire and it was time to go home and get ready to start a new school year ( Mandy and Tracy were not excited) but they had a great year and Tracy and Mandy made lots of friends so according to them it was "The Best Life To Live."
Nice and juicy,
Nice and Cheesy,
Steaming Hot,
Yum it looks good,
When it's Hot.
Swimming swimmers swim splashing spectators.
Some win Silver,
Some win Shining Gold.
Sydney Olympic swimmers swim sensationally and superbly.
The witch wearing black,
walked by,
making a potion,
with a glint in her eye.
a minute later she flew by my head,
cackling with scare,
as the wind blew hard,
ruffling her hair.
The dog was barking,
when the cat was walking by,
in the cool fall breeze.
The lions were playing tag,
One got hurt and screamed in pain,
He went to the doctor and thinks what a drag,
The secratary lion said to him,"Do you have an appointment?"
The lion yells,"Oh No!!"
And he ran out of the clinic
