On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the St. Michael Catholic School community in Belleville gathered at the school to witness the reveal of a memorial created to celebrate the life of a brave young girl.
In 2018, at the young age of nine, Marlow Ploughman lost her life to cancer. She was a force and a true advocate for SickKids. In a video published in 2017, she is pictured laying the last brick. See video here.
Marlow's friends named the memorial space Our Amara, meaning “Immortal Being. One who is blessed without end or death: blessed with eternal life. Grace".
A framed explanation of Our Amara says “Marlow will always be remembered for her bravery and spirit. Through Marlow's courage and perseverance, she taught and inspired our school community."
