Staff and students at St. Martha Catholic School celebrated "I Care" week by engaging in a number of activities focused on creating and maintaining a positive school climate. Students learned how they could care for themselves, others and the environment. The students learned the importance of showing respect and living as Jesus taught them to. The school had various guest speakers throughout the week starting with a presentation by Kingston City Police Constable Gauthier on cyber bullying and caring about your online presences. The KFL&A Public Health did a presentation about healthy eating and physical activity. The staff and students presented House Based Housing with a financial support and toiletries for Lily's Place, a shelter for families in Kingston. This presentation left such an impact on the grade one class that after Ms. O'Meara read a story about the a homeless person, the class raised $50.00 which they donated to Lily's Place. It was a wonderful week of learning.
